Why Hire a Wedding Planner?

Choosing your wedding vendors can be quite a process, and quite pricey.  After the venue, catering, cake, photography, dress, and honeymoon, a wedding planner can seem like an unnecessary expense.  But having a Planner (or Coordinator) on your side can make all the difference in your enjoyment of your day.

I know what not to forget.

Couples getting married have a lot on their minds.  I keep track of exactly what you need for your wedding, and make sure that everything is remembered.  That means no sending your friend back to your house on your wedding day to pick up your favors, or wondering whether the special bottle of wine you chose will be on your sweetheart table.  I take posession of all your wedding day odds and ends before your wedding, so you don't have to worry about how they're going to get there.

I have a contingency plan.

I am a compulsive listmaker, and always planning ahead.  For every event, I have a "Plan B" already worked out.  We probably won't have to use it.  But in the event that there is rain on your wedding day or that our original decor doesn't work out, I've already come up with the solution, well in advance.

I make sure everyone is in the right place at the right time.

Officiant running late?  Caterers lost?  Photographer doesn't show up?  Don't worry - it's my job to make sure they are where they need to be.  So I'll have already confirmed their arrival with them; if there is a problem, I'm on it.  Before you notice.

That goes for during the wedding too - you won't worry about whether the photographer will miss you smashing cake in your fiance's face!

I make it all look good.

One of my biggest responsibilities as a Designer and Planner is as Editor of your wedding.  I bring it all together, the disparate ideas and pieces, and make it make sense.  I tie together your ideas with mine and put a pretty bow on top - it still looks like your wedding.  Just refined.

I know people.

I love to network, finding other like-minded (read: caring and passionate) vendors throughout Southern California.  In the unlikely event that your vendors don't show up, I have a backup list a mile long.  If you need a recommendation, I've got one.  Or five.  I've worked with some of the best vendors in San Diego and I'm happy to tell you about them.

I specialize in prioritizing.

Getting married on a budget is standard these days.  Whether your budget is $4,000 or $40,000, you will still feel the pressure to stay within your means.  I know how to prioritize wedding day spending to get the most bang for your buck.  I exercise my creativity on a daily basis to ensure that my couples have the very best wedding for them, within their means.

I know how to do stuff.

Making place cards.  Printing invitations.  Making tissue poufs.  Creating ribbon walls.  I've done it.  I know how to do it.  Even if your wedding day package doesn't include my handcrafting services, I'm happy to give you guidance and suggestions, tips and tricks.

I am there throughout your wedding day.

Emergencies happen.  I am one of the first ones there and one of the last ones to leave on your wedding day, so that in the event of a hiccup you and your guests don't notice.  I manage your timeline, decor, and vendors, make necessary adjustments on the fly, and sweat the small stuff so that you don't have to.
